"The Madlib Invazion Music Library Series was created by Madlib and Egon over the course of the Pandemic, and was a chance to give their creative friends the ability to stretch out and indulge in whatever type of music they wanted for release on the label.
The music had to be great and able to be presented as a stand alone album – like the best “Music Library” releases of the past, on labels like Italy’s Sermi, Germany’s Bruton, France’s MP2000 and the UK’s DeWolfe. And, like those albums, it had to work as easy, one-stop clearance for background cues in film and television production and, as producers have been indulging since the 1990s, for sampling.
The series contains 12 releases by DJ Muggs, Karriem Riggins, J-Zone, the Heliocentrics’ Malcolm Catto and Jake Ferguson, JJ Whitefield of Karl Hector/Whitefield Brothers/Poets of Rhythm, Motif Alumni and Music Research Library, Mario Luciano of Polyphonic Music Library, Henkel, Gabriel Rowland of Los Yesterdays, Dan Hastie and Terin Ector of Orgone, Dan Ubick and Joe Harrison
The albums will be released on the Madlib Invazion Bandcamp on the first Friday of each month over the course of one year. Listen, ponder, repeat." - Madlib Invazion

Jazz Fusion and Hip Hop mesh beautifully as one of the most delightful tracks from the Madvilliany album comes alive. Groove to the joyful melody as musician Soul Supreme expands upon the MF Doom and Madlib classic "Raid". An upbeat arrangement sends this tune into a new realm of enjoyment in one of the most exciting cover versions of Hip Hop yet. On the flipside, Soul Supreme takes your mind to outer space with a cover of "Huit" by Cortex", also sampled by Madvilliany.
Jamie Peet: Drums (Track 2)
Glenn Gaddum Jr.: Bass (Track 2)
Valentin Guenther: Trombone (Track 2)
Niklouds Holler: Saxophone (Tracks 2).
Soul Supreme: Fender Rhodes, Moog Sub37, Sequential OB6, percussion.
Track 1 written by A. Mion.
Track 2 written by O. Jackson, T. D. Dumile.
Produced and arranged by Soul Supreme

The latest single "Take A Moment" from Sav Killz's "Bangers & B-Sides" finds the Brooklyn MC taking a brief moment to reminisce by providing authentic images of the hood over mellow Afro-Funk sounds. This musical sound bed fits his reflective rhyme style well and production-wise is a different approach than "Retrospect" and the Madlib-produced "More Rice" which carry the straight-up raw boom-bap sound Sav is known for.
Listen to all 3 songs from the forthcoming "Bangers & B-Sides" project hosted by J-Ronin here.
A straight-forward and brief microphone assault over the raw sound of Madlib production, BURNTmd and Phil The Agony present "GTDMIB: Phil Mad Burnt Anthem" an unreleased track from Madlib's "In Search of Stoney Jackson" LP. Around the time that Strong Arm Steady & Madlib were working on In Search of Stoney Jackson, the Brooklyn-bred, VT transplant BURNTmd and Phil The Agony recorded to a few Madlib beats were luckily never used for the LP. "GTDMIB: The 'Phil Mad Burnt Anthem" is the first of a few recovered sessions that we unleash to the internets.
This leak in particular will be featured on BURNTmd's forthcoming and long awaited mixtape, The Green Invasion which is rumored to also have another Madlib produced track featuring the one and only S-N-double-O-P D-O-double-Gizee (that's Snoop Dogg for the Izzle-itterate). Before the good doctor liberates the invasion, stay tuned for his Not So Black & White ep which will feature older, unreleased material in addition to some new strains. Download another track by BURNTmd from "The Green Invasion" feat. Planet Asia here.

Had to give this unreleased Jaylib track some attention, this short leftover from their Champion Sound sessions highlights the knack of each producer to take a classic Hip Hop breakbeat and transform it into something new as their own definition of "funky". When you hear of music from the duo of Jay Dee & Madlib, you should expect something creative and original which represents classic elements of Hip Hop.
"Louder (Blast Your Radio Theme)" is also featured on Madlib Medicine Show #11: Low Budget High Fi Music, now available from Stones Throw Records.
"A 28-track hip-hop album of exclusive Madlib collabos w/ A.G., Guilty Simpson, MED, Oh No, Strong Arm Steady and others. Karriem Riggins pops in for a Supreme Team session, Madlib & Oh No debut The Professionals, and we hear a Jaylib-era track from their never-realized second album. Low Budget High Fi also contains several Loop Digga instrumentals and of course interludes, outerludes and probably quaaludes."
